Where the pipework is already in the worktop, the tap goes on top of it. This deck mounted mixer serves a countertop basin from a single drilled hole, and it is supplied without a drain, so the waste and the pop wasteware are chosen separately to suit the basin and the worktop. That separation is deliberate: a vessel basin wants a different waste from an inset one, and specifying the mixer on its own keeps both decisions open. Cast in AISI 316L stainless steel, it is a marine grade body, the right call for a room that is wet every day.
Fixing is through the worktop: the mixer is set over its hole, tightened from below and sealed against the surface, so the top material and thickness must be known at the template stage. Fit the isolation valves and the waste before the top is bonded down, and check the tail clears the trap once it is in place.
