Some showers are decided in two stages, and this is the first stage. The concealed valve sits inside the wall and is supplied without a spout, so the outlet is specified afterwards: a ceiling rain head fed by a separate arm, a long wall spout, or nothing overhead at all. That freedom is the point. A designer can commit the valve at first fix and still choose the terminal fitting once the ceiling height and tile setting out are settled. The body and trim are AISI 316L stainless steel, and the grade earns its keep in a wet room, where the valve is flushed on every use.
The valve is built into the wall before plastering and tiling, and its position sets where a spout or rain head can later connect. The trim goes on after tiling, flush with the finished face. Order the outlet and the pipework to suit the valve.
