Isolating one basin mixer or shower valve for maintenance without draining the whole supply run calls for a shut-off valve fitted upstream, and this half-inch stopcock does that job in solid steel rather than the chromed brass usually specified for the part. It has a round cross-section rather than the common hex body, threads onto standard pipework, and is sold as a pair, covering hot and cold on one fitting. AISI 304 stainless steel means it will not seize or pit over years of occasional use.
Fit each stopcock in-line on the supply pipework ahead of the tap or valve it serves, orienting the round body so the shut-off slot stays reachable behind an access panel. The half-inch thread matches Colorado and Nilo connection sizing, so no reducer is needed on a standard run. Because the pair covers hot and cold, specify one set per fitting rather than per outlet, and pick the finish to match whichever tap the stopcock sits next to.
