Every large installation eventually needs a point where the water can be stopped. In a hotel bathroom, a large residential shower or a shared spa, the run feeding the shower is too big to close the incoming stopcock for, so it needs its own isolation valve. This wall mounted shut off valve has a three quarter inch connection for that work, and a body in AISI 316L stainless steel, so the fitting left in a damp void is solid metal and still serviceable years later.
Fit it at first fix, upstream of the run it serves and within reach of the finished wall, because once the tiles are up the position cannot be moved. It pairs with the three quarter inch thermostatic mixer, giving one isolation point for the whole shower zone. Check the isolation under working pressure before the wall is closed, then order the finish to agree with the controls on the same wall.
