A concealed bathtub set puts the mixer and the spout both into the wall behind the bath, so nothing stands on the tub rim and the bath reads as a single clean object against the tiled wall. That is the specification for a freestanding or built-in bath in a hotel suite or residential bathroom where the rim is left deliberately bare. The set is AISI 316L stainless steel, the grade that tolerates the constant splashing of a bath and the cleaning regime of a hospitality bathroom without pitting at the outlet.
The installer sets the valve and spout into the wall behind the bath at first fix, trimming out after tiling so the pipework is never seen and the rim stays bare. The 316L stainless steel body is chosen for a bath filled and emptied daily, holding its surface where a plated fitting would dull. The set is offered in brushed stainless steel, polished stainless steel, deep grey, gold PVD and Tinta, and adds a two-way diverter where a hand shower shares the wall.
