A half inch water connection that doubles as the support for a hand shower keeps a shower wall to a single fitting, and the metal it is cast in decides how that fitting ages. The grade here is AISI 316L stainless steel, the marine one, whose molybdenum content resists the chloride carried in tap water and in salt-laden coastal air. Plan it into the pipework while the wall is still being built up, and the hose, the hand shower and the supply all come from the same place.
Fix it to the wall face with the supplies chased behind, at the rough-in stage, so the tile is cut once around a fitting that will not move. Set the cradle height against the user before the wall is closed, then run the flexible to the hand shower. Brushed stainless steel, deep grey, Tinta and gold PVD are offered.
